Palworld leaves early access: map roughly doubled, 287 Pals, PvP
Pocketpair shipped 1.0 as a free update two and a half years after launch.
Palworld hit version 1.0 on 10 July. It adds the World Tree region and the floating island of Sunreach, roughly doubles the map, and brings the Pal count to 287 — 72 more than before. The Awakening and Mutation systems arrive alongside a Wing Pack glider and a PvP mode.
The update is free for anyone who already owns the game on Steam, the Microsoft Store, Xbox or PS5, and it is on Game Pass from day one. Existing saves were not wiped, though Pocketpair suggests starting fresh.
Early access here turned out to be an honest way of working rather than an excuse: the game left it finished rather than merely renamed. That has become rare — version 1.0 usually arrives when a studio runs out of money, not when it runs out of tasks.
