Konami opens a Metal Gear pop-up at Kinokuniya in Tokyo

To mark Master Collection Vol. 2, Konami is opening a temporary store inside the Kinokuniya bookshop in Tokyo's Shinjuku district. It runs from 18 August to 4 September, with merchandise built around the collection's two headline games, MGS4 and Peace Walker.

A small thing, but a telling one. A pop-up in a bookshop rather than a game store says something about who Konami is selling Metal Gear to in 2026: people who came in for a book and know who Snake is because they played eighteen years ago.
