Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit released on 15 July

The sequel to a game that deliberately refuses to be played for more than half an hour a day.

Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit, Spry Fox's sequel to Cozy Grove, arrived on 15 July.

The first game had a trait rare in its genre: it deliberately hit a ceiling. Tasks are tied to real-world days, and after half an hour there is nothing left to do until tomorrow. That was not a technical limit but a design decision, aimed squarely at the loop most resource-gathering games are built on.

The idea is contentious precisely because it is honest: a game that shows you the door gives up the one metric its publisher and storefront will judge it by.
